Wonderkid Be the footballer, not the manager — live a whole career, one tap per year

From your first touch in the street to your last dance under the lights. One tap is one year. Birth to death to the child who carries the name — and every contract, injury, transfer and regret in between.

Out on Android · free in your browser too Free to play · one optional unlock, once, forever

Playable right now

You don't have to wait to play.

The Android app is out on Google Play — install it and you're living your first season two minutes later. Nothing to install? The web version is the same game, the same clubs, in the browser on the phone you're holding.

Free either way. The browser needs one email to confirm it's you, one click, and you're playing — the same account then signs you in on the app.

iPhone — coming soon

On iPhone? It's on the way.

The iOS build is next in line. Leave your email and we'll send you one line the day it reaches the App Store — and every address on this list is one more reason for us to hurry.

One email, once, when the iPhone version is out. No newsletter, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What it is

One tap is one year. That's the whole interface.

A life simulator that is football all the way down — not a football mode bolted onto a life game. You are born somewhere real to parents with real jobs, and everything after that is what you did with it.

01 / Born

You don't pick a career. You get a childhood.

A country, a city, a family that is comfortable or isn't, siblings, grandparents who will die while you're still learning to run. Everything the game rolls at birth is load-bearing for the next eighty years.

02 / Judged

Fifteen attributes, and a number that doesn't lie.

Technical, defending, physical, psychological — position-weighted into an Overall you can read from age six. Playing well is the fastest way to grow: a great season multiplies development, a bad one nearly stops it.

03 / Chosen, or not

Most academies say no. That is the point.

Trials, rejections, a first contract you're allowed to refuse, loan spells in places you've never heard of, and a dressing room that decides whether you start. The failure is simulated as carefully as the glory.

04 / Remembered

Then you die, and your son laces up.

A legacy score, a tier, honours, a net worth, a generational ranking — then continue the bloodline as one of your children, raised wherever your career happened to finish. Or take one over while you're still alive.

The arc

Eighty years, and you'll feel every one of them.

Age 0 — 5 · Origins

A city, a surname, a start

Born in one of 38 countries with its own name pool, real cities and footballing weight. A struggling family, a comfortable one, a father who drives a minicab. Attributes are already rolling.

Age 6 — 12 · School & streets

Hours against a wall

School, grades, a smarts stat that decides what studying is even worth. The local youth side, named for your city. The subs money your mum can't quite find. The first year the Overall is worth looking at.

Age 13 — 16 · Academy

The trial, and the letter after it

Pick a position. Most players are rejected here — the game does not flinch from it. Those who get in play academy seasons with real finishing positions and the occasional accolade nobody outside the club notices.

Age 17 — 21 · Breakthrough

A first contract, or the dream quietly ends

Wages that scale exponentially with how good you actually are. A squad status, a settling-in penalty, a manager whose trust decides your minutes. You are allowed to say no to all of it.

Age 22 — 29 · Prime

Transfers, trophies, three rivals and a ballot

Two-tier transfer jumps, loans, a money-over-football offer at 27. Three named rivals age and score and retire alongside you, and the year's best player is decided between you, them and an outsider.

Age 30 — 35 · Twilight

The body files its complaints

Injuries with rehab forks. A league that stops calling. Property that appreciates whether or not you do. The captaincy, if the dressing room ever thought that much of you.

After · Legacy

An obituary with a number on it

Retire, emigrate, watch the money work or not work. Then the legacy score, the tier, the generational ranking — and a child who inherits your passports, your city and absolutely none of your ability.

Under the hood

Simulated, not scripted.

Every number below is a system that runs every year of every life, whether or not you are looking at it.

Ability

Fifteen attributes, four groups, one Overall

Under 60 is red, 60–79 amber, 80+ green — the band where the simulation itself starts calling you elite. Growth is asymptotic toward a hidden cap, multiplied by last season's rating and hard-capped so form can never run away.

The market

1,052 clubs that want you, or don't

Thirty-six countries with a league of their own, 91 divisions between them, and a domestic cup in every one. Market value scales with your club's standing as well as your rating, so a 66 is worth €3M in one league and €14M in another. Clubs remember your last eight moves and won't recycle you.

ContractsNegotiationLoan spells Squad statusFree agencyRelease clauses of the soul
The world

Rivals with careers of their own

Three named contemporaries per generation. They transfer, they score, they win things you wanted, they retire before or after you. The year's biggest individual award is a contest, not a reward.

Money

120 ways to lose it

Dealerships and estate agencies named for the city you live in, with stock that rotates yearly. Mortgages that can repossess. Investments from a savings account to crypto, with a counsellor who narrows the swings and still can't make crypto sensible.

Life

Everyone around you is real

Parents with 55 possible jobs, siblings, grandparents, partners whose lives scale with yours, children with professions and football promise, friends, prenups, dual nationality and an irreversible choice of country.

Writing

609 hand-curated event cards — and not one word of them written at runtime

The engine owns every number; the prose only ever describes what the engine already decided. Cards carry multiple phrasings and slot-fill real club and city names, so the writing stays varied while the balance stays exactly where it was measured. No latency, no connection required, nothing to subscribe to.

The honest part

Most players never make it.

Measured over a thousand simulated lives per profile, not guessed at — and the full method is published. The gap between playing carelessly and playing properly is the game.

0%

never turn professional at all, playing on instinct.

Falls to 10.8% if you train every single year.
0%

ever pull on a five-star club's shirt.

Rises to 28% for an ambitious, disciplined career.
0%

retire as Immortal, the top legacy tier.

15.4% if you did everything right, and got lucky too.
0×

best-player awards for an era's very best, across a whole career.

Contested every year against three rivals and an outsider.

The client

Built for a thumb, in two skins.

A near-neutral base, teal doing the structural work, and orange rationed to about a tenth of the screen — the primary action, your age, a decision, a milestone. These are real captures from the build on Google Play, not mockups — and they follow the toggle, both skins shot on a real phone.

Questions

What people ask before signing up.

What is a football life simulator?

A life simulator lets you live a whole life from birth to death, a year at a time, making a handful of decisions each year. A football life simulator makes that life a footballer's: you are born somewhere real, you get spotted or you don't, you sign or you don't, and everything that happens to a career — academies, trials, contracts, transfers, injuries, a dressing room that decides whether you start — is simulated rather than narrated.

Wonderkid is football-native from the first screen. It is not a general life game with a sports mode attached.

Is Wonderkid like BitLife?

The one-tap-per-year loop will feel instantly familiar if you have played BitLife. Everything underneath it is different: 1,052 clubs across 36 countries and 91 divisions, fifteen FIFA-style attributes rolled into a position-weighted Overall, real wages, real transfer logic and a rival generation that ages and scores alongside you.

We wrote a longer, honest comparison: nine games like BitLife compared, and where a football one fits.

When does Wonderkid come out?

It's out. Wonderkid launched on Google Play in August 2026, after a closed test that ran through the summer — you can install it right now, and the web version plays free in this browser. The iOS build is next in line; leave your email in the iPhone box above and we'll send one line the day it ships.

How much does it cost?

Free to play, with one optional unlock bought once and owned forever. No subscription, no energy timers, no paying to skip a year. The whole simulation runs on your phone, so there is nothing to keep paying for.

Which platforms is it on?

Android now — on Google Play — and the browser, free, on this site. iOS is next: it is built in Flutter, so the iPhone build comes from the same codebase as everything else — a build target, not a rewrite. Ask for it above and you'll hear the day it lands.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. Every number in the game is decided on your device, and all 609 event cards ship inside the app. Nothing is generated by a server while you play, which is why there is no latency and nothing to subscribe to.
